Common Failures to Avoid (and How to Prevent Them)
Adhesive softening → edge lift or creep at temperature
- Cause: adhesive grade not matched to peak temperature/dwell time
- Prevention: choose adhesive system by temperature class (rubber/acrylic vs silicone) and validate under real thermal cycle.

How to Choose (Adhesive System & Temperature Class)
The temperature classes below refer to electrical insulation applications by adhesive system and grade. For glass cloth electrical insulation tape, typical thermal classes include 130°C, 155°C, and 180°C, depending on adhesive system and product grade. Final suitability should always be validated under the actual insulation system and operating conditions.
Rubber adhesive (Class B ~130°C): cost-effective general insulation and bundling where temperature is moderate.
Acrylic adhesive (Class F ~155°C): improved heat aging for many electrical insulation applications.
Silicone adhesive (Class H ~180°C): preferred for higher-temperature electrical insulation environments. For applications requiring higher peak process temperatures, confirm suitability by product family and actual process profile.
