High-Strength Filament-Reinforced Electrical Tape (F-380A)

High-Strength Filament-Reinforced Electrical Tape (0.17 mm) for Motor Winding, Dry-Type Transformer Insulation, Lead Wire Anchoring & Coil Reinforcement

High-Strength Filament-Reinforced Electrical Tape is a 0.17 mm PET electrical insulation tape reinforced with continuous fiberglass filaments. It is built for electrical applications that need both strong mechanical holding power and reliable dielectric insulation.

The thicker construction gives the tape higher tensile strength and better resistance to pull-through than standard-grade filament-reinforced electrical tape. It helps hold heavier coils, secure lead wires, and keep winding structures stable during motor, generator, and dry-type transformer assembly.

This tape is suitable for Class F insulation systems (155°C) and performs well in common electrical manufacturing processes such as varnish impregnation and thermal curing. Typical uses include motor winding, lead wire anchoring, end-turn banding, dry-type transformer insulation, and generator coil reinforcement.

Converted formats and application-specific grades are available on request. Please contact us to request the latest TDS, sample rolls, or custom specifications for your motor, generator, or dry-type transformer application.

Filament Reinforced Electrical Tape-structure

Overview

High-Strength Filament-Reinforced Electrical Tape combines PET film backing with continuous glass filament reinforcement. The result is an electrical insulation tape that provides both dielectric insulation and stronger mechanical reinforcement in heavier-duty winding applications.

The PET backing contributes stable electrical insulation, while the glass filaments add high tensile strength along the machine direction. Compared with standard-grade filament-reinforced electrical tape, the 0.17 mm version offers stronger holding power and improved stability for larger coils, heavier windings, and higher-load electrical assemblies.

Typical application areas include:

  • motor winding
  • lead wire anchoring
  • dry-type transformer insulation
  • coil banding and end-turn banding
  • generator coil wrapping
  • wire hold and coil reinforcement
  • industrial electrical equipment manufacturing

Key Features & Benefits

Higher Tensile Strength

Continuous fiberglass filaments provide tensile strength of 500–550 N/25 mm. This helps control heavier windings and improves stability during assembly.

Low Elongation

Elongation remains at or below 5%, which helps reduce loosening, shifting, or pull-through during winding and coil holding.

Reliable Electrical Insulation

The PET backing provides dependable dielectric insulation for motors, generators, and dry-type transformer assemblies.

Better Holding Power for Heavy-Duty Applications

The 0.17 mm construction gives stronger mechanical support than standard-grade filament-reinforced electrical tape, especially in larger coils and higher-load applications.

Process Compatibility

The adhesive remains stable during common electrical manufacturing processes such as varnish impregnation, curing, and thermal cycling.

Copper Compatibility

The tape is intended for use in electrical winding systems that involve copper conductors and reinforced insulation structures.

Flexible Converting Options

The product can be supplied in slitted rolls, sheets, or die-cut parts for automated winding systems and customized insulation applications.

Technical Datasheet Summary

DESCRIPTION

PET film and continuous glass-filament reinforced electrical tape for heavier winding, lead wire anchoring, dry-type transformer insulation, and coil reinforcement. It combines higher tensile strength, low elongation, and reliable dielectric insulation for demanding electrical assemblies.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

Store in original packaging in a clean, dry area at 10–27°C and below 75% RH, away from direct sunlight and heat. A 12-month shelf life is recommended unless longer retention has been internally validated.
