PET Fiberglass Cloth Tape (F-390)
PET Fiberglass Cloth Tape for Motor Winding, Transformer Insulation, Coil Banding & Lead Wire Anchoring
PET Fiberglass Cloth Tape is a polyester-based electrical insulation tape laminated with fiberglass cloth and coated with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. It combines high tensile strength, low elongation, and stable insulation performance for demanding electrical applications.
This tape is widely used in motor winding, transformer insulation, lead wire anchoring, coil banding, crossover insulation, and generator coil wrapping. It is suitable for applications that require both mechanical reinforcement and dependable electrical insulation.
For special applications, customized widths, converted parts, and application-specific adhesive options may be available on request.
Overview
PET Fiberglass Cloth Tape uses a polyester film and fiberglass cloth composite backing to deliver both electrical insulation and mechanical reinforcement.
The construction provides strong holding power, puncture resistance, tear resistance, and dimensional stability during winding and banding operations. Compared with lighter electrical insulation tapes, this structure is better suited to higher-stress coil applications where stronger anchoring and stable wrapping are required.
Typical use areas include:
- motor winding
- transformer coil insulation
- lead wire anchoring
- coil banding
- crossover insulation
- generator coil wrapping
- wire harness winding
- electrical equipment assembly
Key Features & Benefits
High Tensile Strength
The fiberglass cloth construction provides strong longitudinal strength for coil cover, anchor, banding, and other reinforcement uses.
Low Elongation
Low elongation helps maintain winding tension and reduces slippage during coil wrapping and lead anchoring.
Reliable Electrical Insulation
The polyester and fiberglass cloth composite offers stable insulation performance for motors, transformers, generators, and related electrical assemblies.
High Temperature Resistance
Suitable grades can withstand elevated-temperature electrical insulation applications and curing cycles.
Solvent Resistance
The acrylic adhesive system offers good resistance to common industrial environments and supports electrical insulation use.
Converting Flexibility
Available in slit rolls, sheets, and converted parts for different winding, banding, and assembly requirements.
